On September 30, 2022, the National Bureau of Motor Insurers (BNAA) organized in Chisinau the XXIV Meeting of the South-East Regional Group within the COB.
NBMIM hosted representatives from the Green Card Bureaux of the countries in the regional group, such as: Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Turkey.
Also present at the event were: COB representatives, Mr. Sorin Greceanu - Vice-President of the COB and Hayk Zayimtsyan - Risk & Monitoring and IT Manager; President of the National Financial Market Commission (CNPF) - Ms. Cornelia Cozlovschi and Vice-President of the CNPF - Mr. Adrian Gheorghiță.
The agenda of the Regional Assembly included various topics, aiming at the Analysis of developments in the International Green Card System and their impact on financial stability, Decisions within the COB, Challenges and goals of the System, Main tasks and progress of the Committees within the COB and the Draft Memorandum of Understanding, the procedure for electing SERG representatives.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Dinu Gherasim, President of the NBMIM Board of Directors, expressed appreciation and gratitude for the presence of the representatives of the Bureaux and the COB delegates at the event, also mentioning the trust in the NBMIM’s collaboration with the COB.
During the working meeting, Mr. Sorin Greceanu, Vice-President of the COB noted the activity of the regional committees within the COB, the adoption of the new COB Statute and emphasized the importance of communication and cooperation within the committees and the senior management of the system.
Subsequently, the President of the National Commission for the Financial Market, Ms. Cornelia Cozlovschi, in her speech mentioned that the Supervisory Authority will continue to attach great importance to the activities undertaken and the behavior of insurance market participants in the International Green Card System, as a whole, as well as to the collaboration with the member countries of this System, and the Vice-President of the NCFM, Mr. Adrian Gheorghiță presented the insurance market in the Republic of Moldova as a whole and its prospects.
Finally, the NBMIM Executive Director, Ms. Alina Osoianu, appreciated the contribution of all representatives in the Regional Assembly and expressed her sincere thanks to everyone for their participation, presentations and the opening of partnership and cooperation within the System.
