Accident on the territory of Republic of Moldova

Notify the competent bodies for documenting the road accident and request the report of the contravention finding to be drawn up or apply the Accident statement procedure, as the case may be.

Take pictures at the accident place of your vehicle and of the culprit as well, with all the circumstances included (overview of the place of accident, registration numbers and damaged parts of the vehicles, brake marks, shards).

Obtain a copy of the domestic MTPL insurance or of the Green Card insurance certificate held by the foreign driver, as applicable.

If you have suffered personal injury, document all the circumstances justifying the injuries resulted from the road accident and the expenses for the administered treatment.

In the event of the death of the injured person, claims for compensation may be submitted by the deceased person's successors or their legal representatives.

Do not take independently measures to repair and settle damages and ensure the access of the representative of the MTPL insurer / NBMIM to the vehicle with which you were involved in the road accident.

In case of the vehicles without MTPL insurance / illegally obtained / unidentified or in the case of the culprit having a Green Card insurance, address the NBMIM with the documents confirming the accident occurring, the circumstances, and the guilt of the driver in matter issued by the competent bodies.

If you have an optional CASCO car insurance, contact your insurer directly.

Take all possible steps to reduce the damages.

Within 48 hours from the moment of the accident, notify your MTPL insurer or the National Bureau, if you are a Green Card insurance holder.

Notify the accident participants, the injured party or their relatives that you have a MTPL insurance policy and / or a Green Card insurance.

Do not take independently measures to repair and liquidate the damages and ensure, at the request of the MTPL insurer / NBMIM, access to the vehicle with which the accident was caused.
